Mothers often run out of ideas as to what to pack for their children's school lunches, while for their children, the content of their lunchboxes is often the highlight of their school day.
POLOKWANE – Mothers often run out of ideas as to what to pack for their children’s school lunches, while for their children, the content of their lunchboxes is often the highlight of their school day.
Review spoke to some Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord learners to find out their lunchbox likes and dislikes.

Shoni Lukheli said he loved mushroom pizza and would not mind having it at school every day.
He said he did not like pears and hoped his mother would never put them in his lunchbox.

Luke Noorbhi said his all-time favourite lunch were hamburgers.
“I don’t like boiled eggs, so I give them to my friends when I get them in my lunchbox.”
Jared Kotzé said he loved any pita fold-over, but he did not like cheese or eggs. “They don’t smell very nice.”

Cassandra Maunye said her favourite food was a triple-decker pizza. She said she did not like potatoes and that, no matter what you did with them, they always tasted terrible.
Dimpho Mogotsi said she could not wait for break time when she knew her mother had packed something from her favourite family restaurant. “I don’t like beans and anything with mayonnaise on smells and tastes funny to me.”
Tatum Whitehead said the best lunchbox she has ever had contained rib burgers.
“Rib burgers are the best lunches for school, and they help me grow up and become strong. I don’t like tomatoes.”
Ferdi van Reenen said he liked to buy his lunch at the school tuck shop and peanut butter was his least favourite bread spread.
Sharon Scheepers said her favourite was peanut butter sandwiches.
“Just thinking about peanut butter makes be hungry! I don’t like Marmite; it tastes so awful.”
