POLOKWANE – Some parts of the city are without water and the municipality is not sure when the water supply will be back.
The reason for the water shortage is allegedly due to problems at the Ebenezer and Olifantspoort plants.
Tidimalo Chuene, a municipal spokesperson said the municipality had an emergency shutdown at the Olifantspoort plant for a pipline repair after a leakage was found on Thursday.
“The Ebenezer plant was affected by the Eskom load shedding, which had a negative influence on the reservoirs. The areas affected for now are Bendor and all the extensions, Sterpark, Fauna Park, Flora Park and Serala View. We do not know when the problem will be resolved, but in the meanwhile there are water tankers that supply water to the areas affected. Residents can contact their ward counsellor or ward committee members for more details,” Chuene said.
The reservoir levels this morning were as follows; Krugersburg 50ml reservoir 10%, 30Ml reservoir 0%, Potgieter 95% Extension 34 95% and Seshego 14%.
