POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality has warned that spot fines will be issued and water supply cut as of next week of those not heeding the call to cut down on water usage.
Residents found to exceed the allowed water usage will find their supply cut on second transgression, while spot fines will be issued for the watering of gardens.
According to mayor Thembi Nkadimeng, residents “pay water surcharges with a smile” while continue to waste water. “People cannot for their own selfish pleasure waste our resources in this way,” she said.
Nkadimeng planned on visiting all bulk water users, including residential complexes to ensure locals heed the call to cut down on water usage.
