Pastor’s birthday a day to help kiddies

INSTEAD of celebrating his birthday in the usual way, pastor Strike Manganyi from the Manna Tabernacle Church in Polokwane decided to use the day to do something for the children in his congregation on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – INSTEAD of celebrating his birthday in the usual way, pastor Strike Manganyi from the Manna Tabernacle Church in Polokwane decided to use the day to do something for the children in his congregation on Saturday.

Manganyi organised a fun day for the children during which their hearing was also screened thanks to the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital speech therapy and audiology department.

“I love children because I love the future. When I look at the children I see the future,” Manganyi said. He added that he hoped to make this event an annual one. “Next year we want to make it big. We want to visit children’s homes and orphanages to show them love,” he said. Senior pastor, Joylene Manganyi, said from now on, the month of March would be considered a children’s month in their congregation.

“The pastor is a man who doesn’t want people to do big things for him, but he has a heart for children,” she said.

This year marked the 15 year anniversary of church.
