Customers can get refunds for their unused contracts from movie store

Residents who took out a contract with Movies at Home Cycad, but did not use it before the outlet closed its doors for business on March 25, qualify for a refund.

POLOKWANE – Residents who took out a contract with Movies at Home Cycad, but did not use it before the outlet closed its doors for business on March 25, qualify for a refund.

Concerned residents contacted Review wanting to know what they should do in order to get their money back.

“Movies at Home is closed and now we are stranded with movie contracts which are no longer valid. There are different contracts and I paid R300 for mine. The outlet closed its doors for business without any warning. There is no notification at the premises to indicate whether they have closed completely or just moved to another premises. We would like to have our money back,” one resident said.

Wilita Gouws from Movies at Home denied the allegations that customers were not informed about the business closing its doors.

According to Gouws, contract clients were notified telephonically that they needed to use their contracts before March 15.

“Those who did not want to use their contracts by then had to come into the store and arrange for a refund on their contracts. There was only one customer who came to the store to arrange for a refund. His money was paid into his account immediately after he availed his banking details. A second customer contacted us telephonically and we requested his banking details, but we have not received anything as yet. We are more than willing to refund customers for contracts not used,” Gouws said.

Residents who want to claim for their unused contracts can e-mail Gouws at moviesathomepol@gmail.com.
