It all adds up for MECS learners

FOURTEEN learners from Mokopane English Combined School, (MECS), achieved outstanding success last Saturday at the Amesa Maths Olympiad.

MOKOPANE – FOURTEEN learners from Mokopane English Combined School, (MECS), achieved outstanding success last Saturday at the Amesa Maths Olympiad.

The learners participated in level one, two and three, where they achieved the following results:

Mika’eel Cachalia took honours for first place in level one of round two of this prestigious event.

Hassan Zaman in gr. 5 achieved second place, Tumisho Mosola in gr. 7 achieved third place and Phumudzo Thoka in gr. 7 achieved fifth place.

Shanice Kantuchitani in gr. 8 took honours for first place in level two, Aishah Tayob in gr. 9 took fourth place, Tahseen Mosam in gr. 8 fifth place, while Muktaar Badrodin in gr. 8 was in eighth place.

Fawwaz Khatana in gr. 10 took honours for first place in level three, Mariam Cachalia in gr. 10 achieved third place, Abdullah Nanabava in gr. 12 achieved fourth place and Hamza Ahmed in gr. 10 achieved fifth place.

MECS has been awarded the top school in the Waterberg region for eight years since joining the Amesa Olympiad in 2005.

“Congratulations to the learners, teachers and parents of MECS,” said Adriaan Lubbe, the principal of MECS.
