MOKOPANE – THE Mokopane police in conjuction with the Mokopane victim support visited Matjatji Pre-School on Tuesday as part of National Child Protection Week.
National Child Protection Week is commemorated from May 27 to June 2 and aims to raise awareness on the rights of children.
The campaign, which started in 1997, aims to mobilise all sectors of society to ensure the care and protection of children.
It is incumbent on all of us to play a role in protecting children and creating a safe and secure environment for them.
The Mokopane police and victim support unit gave the children tips and pamphlets regarding their safety and their rights.
The day ended with lunch, where the children were treated to delicious snacks.
“Children are the future leaders of our country and it is our responsibility to take care of them and make sure they are protected,” said Const Irene Masingi, spokesperson for the Mokopane police.
