MOKOPANE – THE three suspects in the Gideon Sello Fatane murder case will appear before the Mokopane magistrate court tomorrow (Thursday) for their formal bail application. A notice of a shut down demand has been sent out to a few businesses.
The Mokopane Chamber of Business responded…
“It has come to our attention that businesses received an intimidation letter again to close on Thursday. We urge members not to adhere to this demand.
The Mokopane Chamber of Business and the Mokopane SAPS have agreed that business owners and residents cannot allow another day of unrest.
If any businesses are threatened and intimidated to close, the police will be on standby and should be contacted as soon as possible. “It would be an advantage if you could take photos of these intimidators. It is also very important that a criminal case must be opened. The police are not able to arrest people without a criminal case.
We must all stand against intimidation and not allow our business to be affected by these people.”
The contact details for the police: (015) 409 1400 or 10 111, WO Kwenaite – 071 678 3324 and Monametji – 071 678 3327.
Bosveld spoke to Matsheledisha Kekana, Zonal chairperson of SANCO Mogalakwena, on Wednesday morning, and he said, “We are not forcing anyone to close their businesses but their support will be appreciated. The residents of Mogalakwena are angry about the latest murders, I can’t guarantee, that nothing will happen to the businesses who stay open. As per our slogan, the injury of one is the injury of all, we should stand together to make sure that justice is served. If the business supports us we will support them in the future should they ever need us.”
