POLOKWANE – Ndavhe Ramakuela will remain acting municipal manager for Polokwane for the time being.
According to municipal spokesperson, Malesela Maubane, former municipal manager Conny Mametja and the municipality had only recently decided to part ways.
It was the discretion of the municipal council when they would advertise the post as there was currently an acting municipal manager.
Mametja and the municipality parted ways in a manner that raised eyebrows after she was suspended for 90 days pending an investigation regarding charges levelled against her. Soon thereafter, an announcement was made to the effect that she and the municipality had parted ways and a settlement was agreed upon.
The announcement continues that council resolved to settle the matter to avoid protracted disciplinary proceedings, huge legal costs associated with the disciplinary process and to bring stability to the municipality.
