No arrests have been made following the shooting incident at Marapong, Lephalale when Medupi workers were shot at on Thursday morning.

LIMPOPO – No arrests have been made following the shooting incident at Marapong, Lephalale when Medupi workers were shot at on Thursday morning.

Police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto says the police have increased visibility, by deploying additional TRT and public order policing members.

According to previous information, workers waiting for transport  to Medupi Power Station were shot at from behind at 05:00 on Thursday morning. One man was shot in the stomache and another slightly injured on the ear. The suspect fled on foot.

Cases of attempted murder were opened by the police.

An integrated team consisting of crime intelligence and detectives are investigating the motive of the incident.
