Murder suspect back behind bars

The suspect which escaped for the Botlokwa police holding cells last Monday night was apprehended this morning by members of Mankweng Unit F tracking team.

LIMPOPO -The  suspect which escaped for the Botlokwa police holding cells last Monday night was apprehended this morning by members of Mankweng Unit F tracking team.

According to police spokesperson Col Ronel Otto, the police had received information on Freddy  Gwala Masenya’s whereabouts this morning which led to his arrest.

He was found in possession of an unlicenced firearm and six suspected stolen cellphones.

 

According to recent information Masenya was being detained for suspected robbery, murder and rape in the Botlokwa police holding cells when he escaped.

Otto said Masenya was a dangerous criminal and had been linked to several of the same crimes.

Masenya will appear in Mankweng Magistrates Court on Thursday on charges of possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen goods.
