LIMPOPO – POLICE in Tshaulu outside Thohoyandou are still investigating a case of murder after a farmer was discovered dead by the community a day after he was reported missing.
Tshaulu police spokesperson, Cedrick Mphoshomali said they first opened an inquest docket, but after the postmortem, they were instructed to change the inquest docket to a murder investigation.
No arrests have been made yet, and the police appealed to the community to come forward with any information regarding the case.
It is alleged that the murder victim, Alfred Mudau (47) of Tshaulu-Dimani predicted his death to some of his family members a month before he was discovered murdered near his garden outside Thohoyandou last Wednesday.
It is believed to be a ritual murder.
Mudau was regarded as a faithful member of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) in his home village and a well- known farmer.
“He came to my house, somewhere in May and told me that someone has told him that he will die before the end of the year. We didn’t take the matter seriously until he came and told me the same sad news again,” said Selina Mudau, the elder sister of the deceased.
