Beit Bridge bus suspect remains in custody

LIMPOPO -Ganyani Courage (21), found in the possession of detonating cords at Beit Bridge border post earlier this week appeared in the Musina Magistrate’s court today.

Courage appeared on the charge of possession of illegal explosives says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

According to previous information, South African Revenue Services officials confiscated more than 200 explosive detonating devices found in a bus at the Beit Bridge border post on Tuesday 22:00.

The detonating cords were found when a customs detector dog unit member searched the bus and found the cords wrapped in clothing at the bottom of the suspects bags.

The provincial police explosives unit was called in, they took possession of the 200 detonating cords and arrested the suspect.

The case was postponed to 2 July. He remains in custody.
