Transport dept set to investigate safety of buses and minibuses
THE department of transport, safety, and liaison said in a media statement that it would will increase its investigations into the safety of buses and minibuses due to the high rise of serious challenges of buses operating with illegal permits, buses that are not roadworthy and are overloaded, which often contribute to fatal accidents on our roads.

Traffic officials of the Polokwane traffic control centre impounded three buses from Masmery company on Sunday evening, two of which were travelling from Zimbabwe to Gauteng and the other one from Gauteng to Zimbabwe and similar offences.
“The department will continue to investigate the fraudulent permits issued and impound buses and minibuses that are travelling illegally on our roads,” read a statement from the department.
