Limpopo police have arrested a total of 19 suspects since yesterday that were involved in the protests on the R555 road to Burgersfort.

LIMPOPO – Limpopo police have arrested a total of 19 suspects since yesterday that were involved in the protests on the R555 road to Burgersfort.

“The suspects were arrested for malicious damage to property following the petrol bombing of four trucks on the road,” says provincial police spokersperson, Col Ronel Otto.

Last night a minibus transporting mine workers home was set alight by the protestors. No injuries were reported.

“The R555 road to Burgersfort is currently open and there have been no more reports of blockades.”

“Police are still patrolling the area,” says Otto
