LIMPOPO – THE premier, Stanley Mathabatha said Mandela Day was about sharing with less fortunate people in the spirit of Nelson Mandela.
Mathabatha spoke during the hand-over of three refurbished houses in Seshego zone 1 on Saturday.
“Mandela Day means a lot to us, it means compassion and sharing. The ANC is about the love of our people. If a branch of the ANC in Seshego can be in a position to renovate three houses, it can also be in a position to provide food to the disabled,” said Mathabatha.
One of the people whose houses was refurbished, Jane Rasetsa Manamela, thanked Emmaculate Security, ANC Milo Malatjie branch, Catch Up Zone, and Rammathathi Trading Enterprise for refurbishing her house.
“I am very happy that some people came on board to help us. The situation was bad, I used to pray that the house did not fall apart,” said Manamela. Rammathathi Trading Enterprise, managing director, Danny Makhafola, said they wanted to help those who were less fortunate.
“It is our duty as the community to help those who are unable to help themselves,” he said.
Betty Tsoma Phasha of Catch Up Zone said: “I can’t let other people suffer. I spent R35 000 and I am still going to do more for the Manamela family. I am going to take one of the children to school next year. I am happy because these families are happy too. The more you give, the more you will receive”.
