Traffic backed up due to taxi violence

POLOKWANE – The traffic is backed up in the area, residents have been warned to use an alternative route.

According to reports the taxi shooting on the R81 bypass has resulted in the back up of traffic from Veldspaat street close to the railway crossing.

Traffic in the direction of Mall of the North has been relayed from the Thornhill crossing.

It is still not yet clear as to what triggered the incident but it is believed to be two rival taxi associations fighting over territory.
