Police have been deployed to the Namakgala village area on Monday morning says the Limpopo police.

LIMPOPO – Police have been deployed to the  Namakgala village area on Monday morning says the Limpopo police.

This is following the report of road blockades on the R71 road between Namakgala and Phalaborwa after  protestors set alight three trucks and two bakkies on Sunday evening.

“Members of the Namakgala community have blocked the road inside the township and the R71 road leading to Phalaborwa,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

According to previous information the R71 road between Namakgale and Phalaborwa was blocked last week due to an illegal march.

‘The residents marched in  protest against the traditional leadership in the area,” said Otto in a previous report.
