A man is sentenced to 25 years for shooting to death his biological father

LIMPOPO – A 42-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in the Sekgosese court on Wednesday for shooting to death his biological father in 2012.

Thomas Shivambu (42) from Dan Village in Ritavi shot to death his father, Edward Shavambu (62), a  retired police official and a sheriff of the court on August 24, 2012, said provincial spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“Shivambu was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment and a further 10 years for the illegal possession of a firearm and 10 years for the possession of ammunition,” said Otto.
