POLOKWANE – Phil Mashakane proved his golfing talent when he was crowned the winner at the LEDA Golf Day in the city.
The LEDA Individual Stableford Golf Challenge took place at the Polokwane Golf Club last Thursday.
The woman with the longest drive was Shertuia Marcmane on hole two and among the men, Nathi Sebide, boasted the longest drive on hole 17.
The nearest woman to the pin was Austin Mashego on hole eight and in the men’s division, Mpho Makhado on hole four.
Winners:
• A Division (0-9 handicap):
1. Phil Mashakane with a total of 40 points.
2. Ernest Ngobeni with a total of 39 points.
3. Justice Mashego with a total of 36 points on a count-in.
• B Division (10-18 handicap):
1. Shaun Ferreria with a total of 45 points.
2. Mpho Makhado with a total of 44 points.
3. Jacob Phala with a total of 43 points.
• C Division (19 and up handicap):
1. Pule Southern with a total of 42 points.
2. Tony Plaatjies with a total of 38 points.
3. Nola Peceur with a total of 36 points on a count-in.
Polokwane Golf Club’s club day
Liz Southon, Mpho Makhado, Zack Chunyane and Callie Naude Sr finished the day in first place with a total of 96 points at the Club Four Ball Aliance Golf Day recently.
Anthony Olley, Wimpie Knoesen, Len Olley and Attie Buitendag came second with a total of 93 points and Nic Notley, Morne Myburgh, Kobus Marnewick and Las Du Plessis finished in third place with a total of 91 points.
The jackpot currently stands at a total of 690 units with a payable 550 units.
