“I am more into boxing, since I used to box myself. But I really hope the Boks win again, especially after they recovered well from the shocking defeat against Japan,” says Matome Mabelebele.

“We should do well from here as I think the Springboks are only starting to reach their peak now. This can put them in good stead to contest for the cup.

“England’s poor performance is a joke and it’s a pity for the host nation to fall out so soon. The teams we should look out for is Australia and the current champs, New Zealand’s All Blacks,” states Martin Brits.

As a sports fan, he enjoys all the rugby action in England. He also feels the Springboks seem to have learnt a lesson from the Japan defeat – to never underestimate your opponents.

“I am hopeful that the Springboks will reach the semi-finals and advance to the final round,” he concludes.

“I am not an expert on rugby, but I do watch the games with my family. I really hope South Africa will win. I prefer rugby matches when the games are more tightly contested instead of one team running away with the score.

“I wouldn’t like to be in the shoes of any coach, especially those of the Springbok coach, Heyneke Meyer, because of the immense pressure they are under. South Africans can be unforgiving when it comes to losing,” adds Martie Botes.
