Patience Ntuli is patiently taking over the Gospel music industry.
LIMPOPO – Award nominated gospel artist, Patience Ntuli, has a lot to be grateful for and this served to be the inspiration for her debut album, Khanimamba.
“I dedicated a song to my mother expressing gratitude to her for raising me under difficult circumstances. I also dedicated two songs to God who is the only Father I have ever known,” said Ntuli.
The album was nominated for the Best Gospel Album at the Munghana Lonene FM Xitsonga Music Awards as well as for INGOMA’s Best Praise Album in 2012. Her latest album, In His presence, also received eight Ingoma award nominations and national recognition.
This, however, does not make her less excited about the current nomination for the Best Gospel Artist at the 2015 Xitsonga Music Awards for the same project.
When Ntuli went to Risinga High School in Giyani. It was after she obtained 100% in mathematics in Gr 10 that it became apparent to her teachers that this young girl was gifted and with proper guidance, she would go further than even she had dreamed of.
Previously known as Pershy Mavangwa (her maiden name), Ntuli was raised by a single mother who had been widowed young. After being awarded R20 for excelling in Mathematics, Ntuli began to dream a bigger dream for herself; she would study to become an accountant.
Though her mother earned very little, Ntuli experienced miracle after miracle which saw her fulfilling her dream.
Ntuli currently works as a senior manager for a government department after obtaining her master’s in business administration (MBA).
Ntuli has not rested however. She credits education as the only way she was able to beat poverty and has recently completed her qualification as a chartered accountant with CIMA London and awaits admission as a member.
Ntuli has plans to release a third album as well as a live DVD recording at Polokwane in December.
