Woman (43) to appear before court on charges of dagga cultivation/possession

POLOKWANE – After following up on a lead from the crime intelligence team of the police, a sting operation was held on a Papkuil farm outside the city.

“Upon investigation police found a 43-year-old woman cultivating dagga on the farm. Police together with dogs from the K9 unit joined in a search and found at least four different types of dagga being grown on the farm,” says  Polokwane police spokesperson, Capt Ntobeng Phala. “The plants were in several stages of growth, some reaching heights of over 2 m and some ready to be dried and sold.

“The woman was arrested and will face charges of cultivating and being in possession of dagga.”

“Police will weigh the plants to estimate the total value of the dagga confiscated.”

The woman will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in the week concludes Phala.
