LIMPOPO – Six suspects who were arrested for allegedly selling land at Mbambamencisi settlement near NkowaNkowa outside Tzaneen were given bail of R3 000 each in the Ritavi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 29 October.

The six suspects, Maimise Raymond Nomvela (42), Madume Michael Mbhalati (47), Tinyiko Jane Mpenyani (46), Louisa Plantina Sekhwari (46), Raymond Makelani (52) and Thandi Mpenyani (41), are residents of Mbambamensisi in NkowaNkowa Block D.

The case was postponed to 24 November for further investigation.

Tzaneen cluster police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said six victims of this fraud had already come forward.

He called on other people who might have been defrauded by the suspects to contact the investigating officer, WO Mbekeni Eliya Shingange, at 073 079 1724.

“People must stop buying land from people on the streets and should rather go to the relevant authority,” Ngoepe added.
