MOKOPANE – Nomangisi Mahlangu, the founder of Zamokuhle Centre for the Disabled, saw the need for a daycare centre for children with disabilities and in 2001 she opened the doors to Zamokuhle in Moshate village outside Mokopane. Today this centre is a second home for 25 children.
The ATKV at Hoërskool Piet Potgieter took this school under its wing and on Friday, Jana-Lené van Eck, chairperson of the Potifar branch, along with her fellow learners, hosted a Christmas party with delicious treats, presents, and a jumping castle.
The day was filled with laughter and was yet another great example that there is no greater gift than that of giving.
Van Eck thanked all of her fellow learners for their help as well as Tony’s Cash & Carry, Kameeldoring 92 Round Table, Urma Prinsloo and Debtsafe for their generous donations that helped to make this an unforgettable and successful day.
“We are planning to take this project to new heights in 2016 by establishing a variety of projects such as a blanket project, horse riding therapy and the establishment of a sustainable vegetable garden,” Van Eck said.
If anyone would like to be part of this wonderful project they can contact Renita Prinsloo at 072 593 3278 or Van Eck at 076 371 3758.
