POLOKWANE – Multi-award winning house band, Mi Casa, brought down the house with their performance at Sun Meropa’s Jembe Tavern over the weekend.

This performance formed part of their nationwide tour for the release of their third studio album. Fans enjoyed the hot songs from their new album, Home Sweet Home.

Back from an incredible international tour of London, Italy, Portugal and Canada, the trio is now busy with a national tour to give locals a taste of their latest music flavour. The group was first introduced to the local music scene back in 2010 and they have since become a popular household name. Mi Casa comprises three talented individuals, Dr Duda who is the producer and DJ, J-Something on vocals and Mo-T who plays the trumpet. Mo-T explained to Express what coming back to Polokwane was like. “We have been in Polokwane before but we haven’t visited again for two years. We did not forget our people. We are excited to be back here again, it is a great blessing. We also brought CDs with us to give to the fans to thank them for their support throughout the years,” said Mo-T.

According to them, they recorded half of their new album while on the international tour. “We recorded twelve songs before we left for the tour, and while we were busy on the tour we met a few legends. We decided to record more songs with them which is why the album is now a double disk. We really wanted to work with these talented artists, and with their help Home Sweet Home is an exceptional good quality album,” Mo-T continued.

Mpho Semono said she is a huge fan of Mi Casa and enjoyed their performance. “I love Mi Casa and I am a loyal fan. I really loved their performance a lot and I really had a good time,” said Semono. Tshepi Kgaswane said she drove all the way from Johannesburg to see the band. “I came from Jo’burg to watch Mi Casa perform tonight because I love their music. It was a great performance and I enjoyed every minute of it,” Kgaswane explained.
