LIMPOPO – A woman (42) was robbed of over R96 000 by unknown and heavily armed suspects in Belleview village, Bolobedu recently.
The police at various police stations in the Tzaneen cluster have issued a warning to women who participate in stockvel groups never to keep huge amounts of money in their houses in order to prevent themselves from been victims of armed robberies.
Tzaneen cluster police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said such robberies mostly happen at this time of the year.
“Criminals know that women carry a large amount of cash, which they collected from each other since January and are ready to distribute at this time of the year,” he explained.
Ngoepe said the suspects are still at large and the police are searching for them.
