Police in the Elim - Hlanganani area are investigating a spate of armed robberies targeting foreign-owned businesses that took place over the past week

LIMPOPO – Police in the Elim – Hlanganani area are investigating a spate of armed robberies targeting foreign-owned businesses that took place over the past week.

Waterval police spokesperson, Const Cynthia Ndou, said thugs armed with guns burst into a hardware store at Bungeni village last Wednesday, where they stole an undisclosed amount of money. Another business owner was held at gunpoint while the cash registers were looted.

In the third such robbery, yet another business was robbed at gunpoint in Ha-Mashamba village. The suspects stole money, cell phones, airtime and other valuables.

Last Friday a business owner in Nwaxinyanani village was the target of the fourth armed robbery. Ndou said investigations are still ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
