LIMPOPO – Three suspects found guilty for the murder of Christiaan Theunissen (88) in 2013 will be sentenced on the Thursday (21 January).
The suspects appeared before the Modimolle High Court today (Wednesday).
Theunissen was attacked and shot dead on his farm Springbokvlei, Thabazimbi on 18 Dec 2013. A farm worker came across his body in the house and alerted a neighbour.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel otto, the suspects were looking for money. “A hunting rifle and a cellphone were taken during the assault.”
Six suspects in total were arrested in connection with the murder. Two suspects Oupa Moroka (48), a farm worker, and Frans Motaung (33) appeared before the Northam-Magistrate’s Court in December and were set to appear again in January 2014.
