Akasia Muslim Community Water Drive gets water to the needy
The Akasia Muslim Community Water Drive recently formed part of the great initiative called Operation Hydrate Limpopo and working within collaboration with them, the sky is the limit.
MOKOPANE – Mokopane is one of many towns in the country that is currently facing a water crisis due to the worst drought in more than 20 years.
Numerous villages within Mogalakwena’s taps have been running dry since October due to the severe heat.
What makes this town different from the rest is that communities such as the Akasia Muslim community show through example that there is great strength in working together.
Bosveld reported last week about the Akasia Muslim Community Water Drive and how they brought relief to the residents of Bakenberg Village water need when they donated more than 3 000 litres of water on their first drive.
Last Saturday, more than 20 community members of Akasia drove to Mzombane village about 10 km’s outside of Mokopane where they donated more than 5 000 liters of water to young and old.
Matsobane Masenya, chairperson of the Mzombane committee, said: “Thank you for the contribution it is truly appreciated by the community.
“It warms our hearts to know people still care.”
