An evening of merriment to welcome new principal

Tom Naudé Technical High School had a big party at Bolivia Lodge on Thursday evening to not only celebrate Piet Holtzhausen's 59th birthday, but to also induct him as the new principal of the school

POLOKWANE – Surrounded by his friends, family, teachers, other principals, school governing body members, as well as education department representatives, Holtzhausen took to the stage to thank everyone for attending, as well as for the well wishes for his birthday.

He spoke about the future of the school and how he wanted to build on opportunities to take the school to the highest level.

He said he hoped to get the school to that point within five years.

He said for that to happen, all personnel, as well as the learners had to change their mindset not only about academics, but other aspects that would make the school better.

Holtzhausen said this would happen through hard work, which was happening already.

Furthermore, he wished to instill a sense of pride in the Tom Naudé family and motivate learners to do better.

Principal of Pietersburg Hoërskool, Willie Schoeman then gave a speech about Holtzhausen, highlighting the various achievements in his life after which a presentation was played for the birthday man.
