Being the top student of your school comes with a lot of pressure and responsibility

POLOKWANE – But the hard work that Nthabiseng Motona put in ensured she was not only Taxila Secondary School’s top learner, it also got her a spot in the top 30 learners of Limpopo.

Review spoke to Nthabiseng to find out what her plans are for the year and what she plans on doing.

Nthabiseng is off to Cape Town where she will attend the University of Cape Town (UCT) to study actuarial sciences.

She says she will take a three-year course and then she will do her honours.

Asked why she chose to study actuarial sciences, Nthabiseng says her love for numbers and statistics helped her make a decision.

“I want a challenge and I feel this degree will give me the challenge I need.”

In 10 years, Nthabiseng says she sees herself having qualified and graduated and beginning her journey into her career.

She wants to become an entrepreneur and because of this goal, she plans to complete a specialist degree in commerce, which includes all aspects she needs in order to become an actuarial scientist which in turn will help her on her path of becoming a successful entrepreneur.
