Former councillors deny rejoining ANC
"I declare that I disassociate myself from the list of rejoined ANC councillors listed in last week's edition of the Bosveld. I declare that I am still expelled and awaiting the court's decision."
MOKOPANE – This sentence is contained in one of five affidavits Bosveld received on Monday from councillors who said they did not rejoin the ANC as stated in last week’s article, “Councillors rejoin ANC”.
Bosveld received affidavits from Michael Moseamedi, Francinah Mabuela, Matsobane Kgalo, Esther Mothibi and Minute Mashilo. The ANC in Limpopo recently welcomed back 13 former ANC councillors from Mogalakwena who were expelled last year.
In a media statement by the ANC the 13 names of the councillors were presented to the media, but according to five of these members they did not rejoin the ANC.
Bosveld spoke to Aluwani Netsianda from the ANC in Limpopo with regard to the affidavits.
This is what he said: “At the time we welcomed the group that rejoined the ANC, we understood the five members to be part of the group.
“But if they changed their minds for whatever reason, we will respect their decision”.
