No arrests yet following shooting outside Mokopane
The Mahwelereng police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the shooting of a man (61) and his wife (59) on Sunday outside Mokopane to contact the nearest police station.
LIMPOPO – The police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the shooting of a 61-year-old man and his 59-year-old wife on Sunday outside Mokopane to contact the nearest police station.
“LM Madiba and his wife Francina, along with their daughter, Vinolia (31) were at home when two armed men entered their house in Gamadiba and fired shots,” explained Const Sello Leso, Mahwelereng Police Spokesperson.
“LM and Francina were rushed to hospital and Vinolia was unhurt and treated for shock.
“The neighbour of the victims informed the police that the suspects took off in a white Toyota Avanza.”
Leso further said the police have strong grounds to believe that there might be a link between this case and a carjacking that occurred on Saturday night at around 20:00 when a Toyota Avanza was stolen in Sekgakgapeng village.
“Several items were stolen, no suspects have of yet been arrested and an investigation is ongoing,” concluded Leso.
