Westenburg police arrest 18 people during Operation Fiela

POLOKWANE – Westenburg police Spokesperson, Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, confirmed the following arrests:

• Six people were arrested and fined for the illegal trading of liquor. The police also confiscated a number of alcohol at the outlets.

• One person was arrested for driving under the influence.

• Five people were arrested for public drinking.

• Four people were arrested for the possession of drugs.

• Two people were arrested for house breaking, theft and possession of suspected stolen property.

“We also rooted out a dagga plantation. The owner of the plantation is still unknown. We are working tirelessly to ensure the Westenburg policing area is safe for our community,” Mashiane said.
