LIMPOPO – The three suspects Vincent Marutha (22), Samandla Makarapa (22) and Simon Chauke (23) escaped from the cells after overpowering members of the police who were on duty.
“The members on duty were overpowered when they went to investigate a disturbance in one the cells,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
The three were initially arrested on charges of armed robbery and house robbery. The circumstances around the escape are being investigated says Otto.
