Serial rapist sentenced to 6x life

A 49-year-old serial rapist who appeared before the Limpopo High Court today received a hefty sentence for crimes committed in 2012.

POLOKWANE – In the space of a few months Paul Kgasago (49) raped six woman, of which the youngest was 11 and the oldest 87.

“Kgasago used to approach the victims from behind, grab and drag them to nearby bushes before raping them. Afterwards he would also rob them of cash and cellphones at knife point.”

“He was sentenced to 6 life terms and a further 75 years for robbery,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service Limpopo Lt Gen Fannie Masemola welcomed this hefty sentence and congratulated the investigation officer, Capt Chuene Makaleng from Lebowakgomo FCS,  for his dedication and thorough work. “I am proud of members performing their duties with the utmost dedication and passion in ensuring heavy sentences for  heartless criminals who prey on the most vulnerable people in our society” he said.
