Seven days, 380 km walk for Jesus
With Easter Weekend only days away we wanted to remind people of the real reason why we celebrate Easter.
MOKOPANE – A total of 13 people walked a distance of 380 km over seven days while carrying a cross to remind people that Jesus died and rose for our sins.
The campaign was called: “The Cross walk to the Mighty Men Conference (MMC).” Their journey started in Heidelberg and from there they made their way along the N1 to the farm where the Mighty Men Conference was held last weekend in Polokwane.
Bosveld met up with the team on their second last day of their journey as they slept over at Hoërskool Piet Potgieter. Among the team was Hendrik Badenhorst and his wife, what is truly inspiring is the fact that Hendrik is blind, but with the guidance of his wife he helped to carry the cross.
Gert van Rensburg, one of the members, told Bosveld: “With Easter Weekend only days away we wanted to remind people of the real reason why we celebrate Easter.
“We also invited people to write down their problems and they threw it in to the cross.” Van Rensburg further said: At the Mighty Men Conference we took out all of the letters and prayed for each one. We had a remarkable journey and ended it on a high note at the conference.”
