POLOKWANE – The police are once again urging residents to report crimes following a recent incident in which a mother and daughter were tied up at home at Soetdorings.
The incident was never reported.
According to Westenburg Police Spokesperson Capt. Mohlaka Mashiane, residents who do not report crimes, even minor crimes, are aiding criminals.
He urged residents to report crimes and open cases for police to investigate.
When a crime is not reported, criminals think they can get away with another crime. This can be avoided if the police are called in to serve the community. This is what we are here for.”
Mashiane, and the Soetdorings Community Policing Forum, appeal to residents to know their neighbours, as this is also a quick way of getting assistance once an incident occurs at home.
