Ellies Electronics donate to TLC
Ellies Electronics Polokwane recently made a donation to The Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at Pietersburg Provincial Hospital worth about R5 000.
POLOKWANE – Irons, heaters, blow dryers and toasters were among the electronics received by TLC.
“We received so many of these products that we sent some of it to TLC Pretoria, TLC Kimberley, TLC Durban and TLC Port Elizabeth. We will be using ours in our new Step Down Facility, a new little apartment where the TLC children in declining condition will come and spend their last days or hours. The apartment will be finished soon and will be furnished with two beds; one for the patient and one for the parents. There is also a little kitchenette and bathroom. We decided to get this place ready to remove dying children from the TLC ward so that the other children do not see the process as it is disturbing to them,” says Bobby Were, facilitator of TLC.
The new room is located at the Theunis Fichardt Hospitium.
“We just want to thank Ellies Polokwane for their donation. We will surely use it as it is needed,” says Were.
The Dispatch Manager at Ellies Electronics, Linda Were, says that TLC and Cansa do so much for the community and that they felt the need to assist them. “I got the task of making up parcels of all our returned goods. These are products that are returned to us for some other reason and that are still 100 % working, but we cannot sell them. We felt TLC and Cansa will be able to use them.”
