Police keep info of most wanted criminals at hand
The police have to keep abreast of the most wanted criminals in the city
POLOKWANE – This is according to Polokwane station commander, Brig Sam Mokgonyana, who spoke during a recent community policing forum (CPF) meeting.
Held at the Polokwane police station, the meeting was held in room a door from where meetings and discussions on crime prevention are held.
When you enter this room, you are immediately faced with a board comprising of a list of the most wanted criminals. This list is made up of the criminals’ general information, their offences, and whether they have been convicted or if they are repeat offenders.
“Like me, every police man and woman must memorise the information on this board. I know the offenders’ pictures off by heart and count down to the minutes they are in police custody,” Mokgonyana said.
He added that the board served as a reminder that the police carried with them residents’ wants and needs, and that they were the servers and protectors of the people.
