Asma Mayet’s Grade 3 class at Northern Muslim School helped making items to show how things can be recycled.

Grade 3 learners at Northern Muslim School last week held an exhibition on ways to help save the planet. They recycled many objects, making some interesting and beautiful articles in the process.
Bookshelves and chests of drawers made from cardboard boxes, wall clocks made from margarine tubs and cool drink lids, robots made from household waste, flowers from empty cool drink bottles and many more interesting items were on display.

Firdous Ally, Grade 3 educator at Northern Muslim School, with her class. “We believe presence is better than presents,” she said when explaining why they urged parents to help their children with their projects.

“We wanted the parents to help them with manufacturing the items,” one of the Grade 3 educators, Firdous Ally said. “We believe in presence being better than presents. This was also to be a bonding exercise.”
