Crimes under investigation – police
Several cases of armed robbery and attempted murder were reported in the last week and according to the Spokesperson for Mahwelereng Police, Cst Sello Leso, most of these incidents are still under investigation. The police appeal to anyone with information on the following incidents to contact their nearest police station.
MOKOPANE – A 48-year-old man from Millinium Park in Mapela was rushed to the Mokopane Hospital on Thursday morning after he was shot four times.
According to Cst Sello Leso, Spokesperson for Mahwelereng Police, Johannes Kwena Kale was shot with a pistol in the early hours of Thursday morning. “Kale is stable and recovering in hospital.”
A case of attempted murder has been opened and an investigation is on-going.

A case of business robbery is under investigation after Eyob Awano Tumore (27) from Gamagongwa in Zone 1 was over powered by two armed men last Thursday evening.
Cst Sello Leso, Spokesperson for the Mahwelereng Police station, reported: “Tumore alleges that two armed suspects approached him and demanded money. Tumore than gave them R3000 cash and airtime to the value of R3600. No arrest have of yet been made. On the same day just after the armed robbery Malesela Marcus Tsatsi (51) was hi-jacked by two armed suspects. “We strongly believe that there is a connection between these two incidents,” Leso said.

A 28-year-old man was shot and killed last Friday afternoon during an armed robbery in his shop in Tshamahansi Village, outside of Mokopane.
Mahwelereng Police Spokesperson, Cst Sello Leso, said: “The victim was shot by three unknown suspects wearing balaclavas. The suspects took off without stealing anything.” He further said: “No suspects have been arrested and investigations are on-going.”
