Death, carnage on Lim roads
Three lives were claimed in two separate accidents over the weekend.
MOKOPANE – Another 18 people were arrested for driving under the influence in Limpopo.
Spokesperson, Department of Transport, Safety, Security and Liaison, Kagiso Mootane, gave this harrowing report of the carnage on the roads over the weekend.
Investigations are ongoing after one person died Saturday morning in a head-on collision on the N1 close to Oorlogsfontein.
“One person died and three were rushed to the Mokopane Hospital after a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck.”
Two people died on Saturday afternoon on the R519 next to the Mookgophong cemetery after the driver of a bakkie lost control of the vehicle and rolled. According to Mootane a possible cause for the accident is speeding, however, investigations are still ongoing.
