SLC’s state-of-the-art centre open to public
Stanford Lake College (SLC) officially opened the school's new state-of-the-art High Performance Centre (HPC).
POLOKWANE – The event on 21 May welcomed around 200 guests, eager to take a tour of the much anticipated facility.
SLC Headmaster, Craig Carolan, officially opened the HPC with a small ceremony where he welcomed the guest of honour, Lebogang Montjane, Executive Director of the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA).
SLC Marketer, Rona McGaffin, said: “The HPC is a multipurpose sports facility built to provide the learners and the community with access to top class sports training facilities.
While the full potential of the HPC will only be realised in years to come, the senior management team has identified three specific sport activities which they will focus on for the first few months namely squash, swimming and the gym.”
She further said the aim of the HPC is to provide high quality training to SLC learners in these three areas before expanding the field of sporting activities.
While SLC learners will always remain the main focus, the HPC is open to the general public. Membership options and details are available on the school’s website at www.slc.co.za
