Crimes under investigation – police

Several cases of robbery, a murder and a hit and run incident were recently reported. 

MOKOPNE – According to the Spokesperson for Mahwelereng Police, Cst Sello Leso, most of these incidents are still under investigation. The police appeal to anyone with information on the following incidents to contact their nearest police station.

The body of a 27-year-old woman was discovered on Monday morning in Extension 27 RDP Aluta Park.

Mokopane Police Spokesperson, Segt Irene Masingi, reported: “The deceased was identified by her mother as Puseletso Mmakwena Seopa.”
Masingi further reported: “The victim’s boyfriend (30) was arrested in connection with her murder on Tuesday. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”

A case of culpable homicide is under investigation after a 45-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run last Friday on the N11 in Pola Park.
Mahwelereng Police Spokesperson, Const Sello Leso, reported: “The woman was hit by a White Toyota bakkie and she died on the scene. No arrests have of yet been made and investigations are ongoing”.

The 42-year-old Thomas Kedibone Lesufi was carjacked on Sunday in front of his house in Hospital View.
It is alleged that the suspect pulled him from his car, assaulted him before driving away with the victim’s car.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.

A White Renault Interlink Truck and two trailers, to the estimated value of R600 000, were stolen from Bosveld Scrap Metals in Bonsmara Street last Wednesday.
Segt Irene Masingi, stated: The suspects gained entry by breaking the padlock of the gate with a brick.
Investigations are ongoing.
