Office space sorely needed for Lim345

THE officelesss LIM345 Municipality, which has been named the Collins Chabane Municipality, has requested the Public Works MEC, Jerry Ndou to allow them to operate from a building known as DCO in Malamulele.

In response, Ndou has instructed the the acting HOD for Cooperative Governance Human Settlements and Traditional affairs, the acting municipal manager for Lim345 and public works that all the logistics with regard to temporary and permanent space must be done in conjunction with the provincial treasury for authorisation.

Spokesperson for Public Works, Paena Kgalane said public works team has been dispatched to Malamulele to assess the suitability of the DCO building. Twenty-five offices were identified and available for use. Acting Municipal Manager of Lim345, Dick Mushoana said the municipality started operating on 17 August and has occupied the traffic department building, technical service building and the civic centre in Malamulele. “We don’t have a council chamber and the first meeting was held at the Malamulele Boxing Gym. The speaker will decide where to hold the second council meeting,” said Moshoana.

The Secretary of the Limpopo ANC Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), Nocks Seabi, has requested a report from the provincial government on the support that is being given to the Collins Chabane Municipality to ensure its full establishment,” said Moshoana.
