Onica Moloi sworn in as the new MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture
Limpopo premier, Stanley Mathabatha has made a few changes in his executive council for effective governance. Former Department of Sport, Arts and Culture head of portfolio, Onica Moloi was sworn in as the new Sport, Arts and Culture MEC replacing Nandi Ndalane. Mapula Mokaba Phukwana will now be responsible for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development while Ndalane will be responsible for the renamed Department of Transport and Department of Community Safety.
POLOKWANE – Limpopo premier, Stanley Mathabatha has made a few changes in his executive council for effective governance. Former Department of Sport, Arts and Culture head of portfolio, Onica Moloi was sworn in as the new Sport, Arts and Culture MEC replacing Nandi Ndalane. Mapula Mokaba Phukwana will now be responsible for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development while Ndalane will be responsible for the renamed Department of Transport and Department of Community Safety.
Mathabatha welcomes the new incumbent and wish her the best of luck and also wish to thank MECs re-deployed to various departments for the services rendered to the people of Limpopo. He said, “We believe these changes will provide effective service delivery to our people and we will see a different Limpopo in the coming years. The changes become effective with immediate effect.”
Government spokesperson, Phuti Seloba said Moloi is known for assisting young woman in the province through her Non-profit organisation, Thalita Khoum Girl’s Network and her appointment will ensure that citizens continue to get proper services.
He further said Moloi was sworn in earlier and will commence with her duties as soon as she settles in the office. Moloi said she is humbled to be named the new MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture and she has already started with her duties.
“This is the first time being part of the executive council and I still need to sit down with my team to find out about the projects they were busy with so that I can be on the right track and start taking the services to the people. I am sure there will be challenges along the way but I have men and women who will guide me along this journey until I can be able to stand on my own two feet,” said Moloi.
She further thanked the Limpopo local government for entrusting her with the position and promised to do her best and deliver as expected.
