POLOKWANE – Traffic will be slow in Oost Street heading toward Jorissen Street as the municipality is repairing a water pipe that burst on the corner of Jorissen and Oost around 03:00 this morning.
It is a main water pipe that burst and the force of the water tore through the tar leaving a big hole at the intersection.
Matshidiso Mothapo, a Municipal Spokesperson, said motorists will still be able to use the road but because a part of it is closed due to municipal workers fixing the pipe, traffic will be slow.
“We also apologise to residents in the area for the inconvenience as we will have to close the water supply in the area to allow repairs to be done on the burst pipe. We are working tirelessly on the problem and hope to restore the water supply soon,” Mothapo said.
