POLOKWANE – Residents and motorists are informed about road closures at the intersection between Maropeng Street and Nelson Mandela Drive due to construction on Nelson Mandela Drive.
According to a municipal press release the road closure will be from today (Friday) until 15 December.
The closure will not affect the flow of traffic on Nelson Mandela Drive to and from the city. Motorists who wish to turn right onto Nelson Mandela Drive from Maropeng Street will not be able to do so reads the release.
Residents and motorists from nearby areas are advised to use alternative routes until the completion of the project.
In the meantime, Legae la Batho residents are advised to use the following routes going to Polokwane:
– Join Matlala road through Marabe Street, or
– Join Nelson Mandela Drive through Marabe Street or
– At the Maropeng intersection turn left on the Nelson Mandela Drive and join Dendron road through Polokwane Drive.
Motorists going to Seshego from Mahlasedi will have to use Polokwane Drive and Marabe Street to access Nelson Mandela Drive
